The Oniku tribes live in the volcanic region of Kamado, where even the creatures that evolved to survive in this harsh environment are slowly cooked alive by the intense temperatures emanating from the oil volcanoes. The Kamado fauna is thus famous for its flavorful meat that can be eat without cooking.
The Oniku are fierce hunters that developed a wide range of fighting techniques to take down the delicious beasts living in the region. After centuries of practice, these techniques refined into sophisticated martial arts and are used to occasionnally settle a dispute with another tribe in a fighting tournament. Each tribe has perfected its own style. Among others:
- the kushidô (lit. "the skewer path") use long bone pikes as a weapon,
- the yakidô (lit. "the grill path") turn the body into a deadly weapon by channeling the inner heat,
-the genkastu style (lit. "the fried fist") combine blunt force with fried armor created by dipping the chosen body part into boiling oil springs common in the region,...
Due to their high metabolism, the Oniku tend to constantly carry pieces of meat with them, even wearing them as adornments, in case they are hungry. To relax after a good day of hunt, they also love to bath hot broth springs: the famous shabu-shabuzzi ritual.
